Nicosia (Lefkoşa)

Nicosia is the capital of Northern Cyprus and the largest city in this part of the island. Located roughly in the center of the island, the city is divided into two parts - Turkish and Greek, respectively controlled by Turkey and Cyprus. The division of the city occurred after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
